Steve Duble has been the Justice Peace for Harris County Precinct 1, Place 2 (located in downtown Houston) since January 1, 2023. Since taking office, he has taken bold action to increase access to justice. He earned his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University in 1986 and his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1989. He has practiced civil trial law in Houston for over 35 years and has successfully argued appeals in Texas Appellate courts as well as the U.S. 5th Circuit. He is a Member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also a Life Fellow of The Texas Bar Foundation, the largest charitably funded bar foundation in the nation. His peers in the legal community have ranked him at the highest level of professional excellence for his legal expertise, communication skills, and ethical standards by granting him an AV Preeminent rating with Martindale-Hubbell. Judge Duble has lived his entire life in Houston, where he raised three incredible children. He is the first openly gay JP in Harris County history.
