About me
Far West Texas native and longtime Austinite Martha Beard-Duncan is managing attorney of TexasLawHelp.org at Texas Legal Services Center. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Stanford University, earned her JD from the University of Houston Law Center, and majored in English at Rice University. She has worked in public interest law ever since her first job out of law school, in which she served survivors of Hurricane Katrina at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid. She was part of the team at Texas Advocacy Project that won the 2010 Impact Award from the Poverty Law Section for their work on In re Carla Kaye Villanueva.
